Fair Attractions on the Stage
“Profitable Fun For All Who Come," was the promise of the 1920 Missouri State Fair. Fair Officials during the early twenties re-emphasized the double value of Fair attendance as both a family vacation and an educational opportunity for the farmer. Organizers brought operas and ballets to an audience that might otherwise never have an opportunity to see one. Auto parades and department store style shows came into fashion.
