I have the honor
to acknowledge the receipt of your communication
of the 10th Inst. from
-mation received from Genl Clark who was placed
in command of all the troops raised in pursuance
of the late orders of the Executive, there will not be
any necessity for your proceeding any further. You
will therefore return with your troops and discharge
them. The Quarter Master of the detachment
will purchase and grant certificates to the person
of whom he purchases for such provision as you
may need. You will however, endeavor to make
out with as small a quantity as possible.
You will please present my thanks
to the Troops under your command for their
promptness in marching to the call of their
Country.
