| Candidate Filing Period: | Begins 8:00 a.m. on October 21, 2003 Ends 5:00 p.m. on November 18, 2003 |
| Where to File: | Elections Division Secretary of State's Office Kirkpatrick State Information Center, Room 337 P. O. Box 1767 Jefferson City, MO 65102-1767 |
| How to File: | By filing a written request to be included on the presidential preference primary ballot along with a receipt for the filing fee from the candidate's political party or a statutorily qualifying petition in lieu of the filing fee. Presidential candidate request forms are available from the Elections Division of the Secretary of State's office. |
| Random Drawing: | For those candidates filing before 5:00 p.m. on the first day of filing, the secretary of state shall determine by random drawing the order in which such candidates' names shall appear on the ballot. The drawing shall be conducted by the candidate or the candidate's representative. If a candidate's representative is used, he/she must have written authorization from the candidate and be willing to show identification documents at the time of filing. |
| Filing Fee: | A receipt from the candidate's political party in the amount of $1,000.00, or a statutorily qualifying petition signed by 5,000 registered Missouri voters along with a sworn statement that candidate is unable to pay the filing fee, must be submitted with the written declaration at the time of filing. |
