The Governor issued a Writ of Election to fill the vacancy in the office of Missouri Senate, District 23. This vacancy was created by the resignation of State Senator Chuck Gross. Candidates nominated by the political parties or by petition must file their declaration of candidacy with the Secretary of State by 5:00 p.m. on July 31, 2007, for the special election to be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2007.
