Athlete and Entertainer Funds
Transferred to Public Libraries
For FY07, $550,000 was appropriated to public libraries for library materials from the Income Tax on Out of State Athletes and Entertainers. To date, an additional $84,862.08 has accrued in interest. Payments of $634,862.08 funds were dispersed to libraries in early May. Payments were made to each library certified for the state aid program. Each library’s payment amount and date of the funds transfer is shown on the list at http://www.sos.mo.gov/library/development/eftpayments/2007/QryAE2007.pdf. Payments are calculated as a match to both the library facilities and the library’s collections expenditures.
Public libraries may use these funds to purchase library materials including books and audio materials, video materials, CD-Roms, and purchased computer software, e-books and e-audio if the content is owned by the library. Electronic databases and other subscription content are not considered eligible for purchase with these funds. These funds may not replace funds already budgeted by the library for purchase of library materials. Each year the amount paid to each library will be determined in part as a match to local collections expenditures.
( Note: adjusted interest and total amount to reflect a keying error in one P.O., that reduced the MRRL payment by $.60)
