Serving Seniors: A Resource Manual for Missouri Libraries has been designed to serve as a tool for all libraries to develop, plan and expand services to Missouri citizens who are 60 and older.
Missouri seniors are a vital and active group comprising approximately 20 percent of our population. Our communities benefit from the skills, experiences and resources older adults can share with their fellow Missourians. The value we place on our seniors, and the resources we commit to serving them, will have a direct impact on the future success of our communities. Missouri libraries can play a central role in fulfilling the educational, informational, recreational and vocational needs of older adults.
Using this manual as a resource, Missouri libraries are encouraged to explore, create and implement innovative programs and initiatives to strengthen and improve services to the growing population of Missourians over 60.
Serving Seniors: A Resource Manual for Missouri Libraries was produced with funds from the Federal Library Services and Technology Act.
