2012 Teen Video Challenge
Create a video promoting Summer Reading at the public library, including your interpretation of the 2012 CSLP teen slogan "Own the Night," and you could win $275 and a $150 award for your library!
All entries are due by March 21, 2012.
How to Enter
- Get the Missouri Entry Form HERE
. Read all instructions provided on the entry form and read the Rules. - Create a 30 - 90 second video that encourages teens to read and use libraries this summer. Include your interpretation of the 2012 CSLP teen slogan "Own the Night."
- Explore the "Resource for video creation" page for additional ideas and information HERE.
- Entitle your video: "2012 TVC-MO-Unique Name." Please choose a unique name that does not include your real name (example: 2012 TVC-MO-Krpton123).
- Upload your video to YouTube.com.
- Fill out your Entry Form
and Model Release Form
completely. - Submit the forms to:

Bookmarks to encourage reading activities The State Library produces a series of bookmarks containing ideas for parents to use in the effort to get children to read. The four bookmarks target different age groups and needs.
Libraries and Autism This link provides a customer service training video primarily for library staff to help them serve individuals with autism and their families more effectively.
Literacy handbook The handbook was created through a series of meetings with librarians, who designed its structure and organization.
Zero to Three Materials This national nonprofit organization focused on the healthy development of infants, toddlers, and families. The handouts were designed to help parents better understand the science of early development and how to apply the information in meaningful ways to nurture young children's development
Washington Learning Systems These materials are designed to encourage parents to interact with their children to facilitate language, early literacy, and positive parent-child interactions. Some materials available in other languages.
Citizens for Missouri’s Children A nonprofit, nonpartisan public interest group is dedicated to advocating for the rights and well-being of all Missouri's children, especially those with the greatest need.
