Workshops will be held at the following locations:
- Monday, March 5, 2012 – St Louis County Library, Headquarters
- Tuesday, March 6, 2012 – Sikeston Public Library, Sikeston
- Wednesday, March 7, 2012 – Missouri River Regional Library, Jefferson City
- Thursday, March 8, 2012 – Springfield-Greene County Library, The Library Center
- Friday, March 9, 2012 – Mid-Continent Public Library, Administrative Headquarters
Workshop description:
Thom Barthelmess, the curator of the Butler Children’s Literature Center, will present new program ideas, practical tips for outreach programming, display ideas, and hands-on activities for the 2012 Missouri statewide summer library program, “Dream Big—READ!” The content of the workshops will be drawn from but not limited to the contents of the Collaborative Summer Library Program 2012 “Dream Big—READ!” Manual. New and innovative ideas for conducting summer library programs and successful methods for cooperation between public and school libraries in planning and developing local summer library programs will be included.
These workshops are free and open to Missouri public and school library personnel who serve children and their families. Workshops will be from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. with registration opening at 9:00 a.m. Due to space limitations, only one person per public or school library building will be permitted to register. Registrants will receive confirmation emails shortly after the close of registration on February 17, 2012.
