When is the library open?
Missouri State Library is open Monday-Friday, 7.30am -5.00pm, except on state holidays. Access our online resources day or night from your desktop.
How can I receive a library card?
You can access our online patron application at: http://www.sos.mo.gov/library/reference/catalog/
Fill out the application and fax it with a copy of your valid state-issued photo I.D. When we have processed your application, we will send your library card to you through Interagency Mail.
What services are available to the general public?
- Visit Missouri State Library during our regular business hours,
- Missouri citizens may borrow books and government publications from our print collection,
- Access many of our online resources and historical research collections during your visit,
- Staff available to assist you in finding and using government information.
- We strongly encourage Missouri citizens to visit their local public library whenever possible. Local libraries are better equipped to meet the needs of their communities. Please keep in mind that our collections target the needs of state government.
