EXECUTIVE ORDER
83-9

WHEREAS, I have been advised by the State Director, State Emergency Management Agency, Office of the Adjutant General, that a natural disaster of major proportions has occurred in the City of Cedar City (Callaway County) and the County of St. Charles; that injury to persons and damage to and loss of property is imminent as the result of severe flooding that occurred April 2, 1983, and is continuing, and that the safety and welfare of the inhabitants of this city and county require an invocation of the provisions of Section 44.100, RSMo 1978;

NOW, THEREFORE, I KENNETH J. ROTHMAN, ACTING GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI, by virtue of authority vested in me by Section 44.100, RSMo 1978, do declare that a state of emergency exists in the following city and county of Missouri: Cedar City (Callaway County) and St. Charles County, and that this city and county are hereby declared to be disaster areas, and do hereby authorize that the approved Missouri Comprehensive Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Relief Plan be activated and do further authorize the use of such agencies, personnel, and equipment of the State as may be necessary for the preservation of life, property, and the restoration of public facilities in this city and county.
