EXECUTIVE ORDER
94-101

WHEREAS, being advised that an ice storm of major proportion occurred in the Northern part of Missouri causing icy conditions of distress or hazard to public safety; and

WHEREAS, said ice conditions were recognized to be beyond the capabilities of local and other established agencies, necessitating, therefore, the provisions of emergency relief to the people of the distressed area; and

WHEREAS, on Thursday, December 8, 1994, it was declared that an emergency exists in the State of Missouri; and

WHEREAS, on Saturday, December 17, 1994 the Adjutant General of the state, or his designee, is ordered and directed to call and order into active service such portions of the organized militia as necessary to aid the executive officials of Missouri in protecting life and property; and

WHEREAS, on Saturday, December 17, 1994, it is further ordered and directed that the Adjutant General or his designee, and through him the commanding officer of any unit or other organization of such organized militia so called into active service, take such action and employ such equipment as may be necessary in support of civilian authorities, and provide such other assistance as may be authorized and directed;

NOW THEREFORE, I, MEL CARNAHAN, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the State of Missouri, do hereby affirm and ratify said orders.
