EXECUTIVE ORDER
00-19

WHEREAS, on Thursday, October 19, 2000, the Governor will lay in state at the Governor's Mansion; and

WHEREAS, on Friday, October 20, 2000, a public funeral service will be held at the State Capitol at 11:30 am; and

WHEREAS, the citizens of the State of Missouri and the Nation send their heartfelt condolences to Jean Carnahan, her children and family for their loss;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Roger Wilson, Governor of the State of Missouri, by virtue of the powers vested in me through the Constitution and the laws of the State of Missouri, do hereby direct all state offices to close on Friday, October 20, 2000, and declare such day as a day of mourning in honor of Governor Mel Carnahan.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Missouri, in the City of Jefferson, on this 18th day of October, 2000.
