Carnahan certifies new results of special primary election in House District 87

Jefferson City, MO—Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan today announced the certified results from the September 24 special primary election in House District 87. This special election was ordered by the St. Louis County Circuit Court as a result of irregularities that occurred during the August 7th primary election.

The final results of the special election show that Stacey Newman was declared the winner with 1,861 votes while Susan Carlson had 1,766 votes. Newman will be the Democratic nominee for House District 87 in the November 6 general election.

The certified special primary election results will be included on the ballot for the November 6, 2012 general election.
