Carnahan reminds voters of October 10 registration deadline

— Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan today reminded eligible Missourians to register to vote by Wednesday, October 10, in order to participate in the November 6 general election. Since the beginning of the year, more than 152,000 Missourians have registered to vote.

Missourians can register to vote in person at their local election authority’s office or visit www.GoVoteMissouri.com to view different options for registering either in person or by mail. A mailed voter registration application must be postmarked by the October 10 deadline to ensure a voter is eligible to vote in the general election.

It is important to remember that currently registered voters who have moved or changed their names need to update their registration information with their local election authorities to help ensure they go to the correct polling place and are listed accurately on the voter rolls on Election Day. Voters can confirm they are registered at the correct address by using the “Check Your Voter Registration” tool available at www.GoVotemissouri.com.

To be eligible to vote in Missouri, an individual must be at least 18 years of age, a US citizen and a Missouri resident. Missourians who are 17 ½ years of age and will be 18 on or before November 6 are eligible and encouraged to register before the October 10 deadline.
