Kander Marks National Library Week
Encourages Missourians to Visit Their Local Public Library
Jefferson City, Mo. — Secretary of State Jason Kander today marked National Library Week by encouraging Missourians to visit their local public library.
"From early childhood literacy programs to the latest bestsellers to technology, public libraries provide access to a wide range of resources that are worth taking advantage of not just this week, but every week," Kander said.
National Library Week takes place April 13-19, 2014, and is an opportunity to celebrate the role of libraries and librarians in communities across America. Kander’s office includes the Missouri State Library, which has distributed more than $900,000 in grant funding to public libraries this fiscal year.
