E-Mailing Records Retrieval/Return Requests to the State Record Center

The Records Management Division has set up a central mailbox for all messages regarding file/box retrieval and returns. The central mailbox will allow agencies to be sure their requests are received, no matter who is manning the records center on a particular day. Fax and telephone requests are still allowed, but the e-mail box allows another means of contact for convenience.

To retrieve or request files be returned to the records center by e-mail:

1. E-mail records center service requests to recordcenterrequests@sos.mo.gov
2. Please include which records center location you need a file/box from in the subject heading.
3. Include the following contact information at the beginning of the e-mail:
   name, agency, phone number, and delivery address.
4. If requesting multiple boxes, make sure that each e-mail contains requests for only one of the records center storage buildings. The three records center buildings and the range of box location numbers stored in each are listed below:

All records transmittals and requests for general records management consultation should still be directed to the records analyst assigned to the particular executive department, not to the record center mailbox.
