A fictional portrait of Grace Marks, a sixteen-year-old Canadian domestic who was convicted in the murder of her employer and his mistress in 1843. The Grub-and-Stakers Quilt a Bee by Alisa Craig.
The women of the Grub-and-Stake Gardening and Roving Club of Lobelia Falls, Ontario, are taken aback when the club inherits one of the fine old homes in town-- on the condition they maintain it as a museum. Mr. Fairfield is hired as curator, but before the museum is even opened to the public, Fairfield falls to his death from an attic window. A Piece of Justice by Jill Paton Walsh.
Cambridge University nurse Imogen Quy becomes involved in another mystery. Her lodger, student Fran Bullion, has been asked to write a biography of a Cambridge mathematician, Gideon Summerfield. Although Summerfield appears to have been a bit of a bore, each of his previous biographers has mysteriously died or disappeared. Imogen's own project, quiltmaking, provides an intriguing clue.
