Youth Summer Reading Challenge

Who is eligible?

Wolfner Library patrons ages 18 and under. Participants who finish the challenge will be entered for our grand prize gift card raffles of $50, $25, $10 (per age group). All participants will receive a summer reading swag bag.

 

How do I register?

Registration now open!  You can sign up by completing the online registration form, calling, or sending a quick email.

What happens after I register?

Register by June 1, 2026 and Wolfner Library will send you a Summer Reading Welcome Kit with information on how to keep track of the minutes you read this summer (or are read to). You will also receive themed reading lists, project ideas, and a few fun surprises!

As you enjoy reading or being read to, keep track of your minutes between June 1 and July 31, 2026.

 

Kid’s Dino Dig Challenge (developmental ages 0-6)

Log 10 minutes for a participation prize; log 60 minutes for prize raffle entry.

Youth Prehistoric Book Nook (developmental ages 7-12)

Log 20 minutes for a participation prize, log 120 minutes for prize raffle entry.

Young Adult It's a Wild World (developmental ages 13-18)

Log 20 minutes for a participation prize, log 120 minutes for prize raffle entry.

 

Do I have to read certain books?

No. You can read or listen to whatever you want! 

Registered patrons will receive featured book lists that highlight art and artist that help color our world. 

 

How do I complete the program?

Between June 1 and August 10, finish logging your total minutes read by phone, email or Beanstack. You may also contact the Youth Services Specialist for help.

Youth patrons who complete the Summer Reading Challenge will be entered into our Grand Prize Drawings! The following will be raffled: 

 $50 gift card (per age group)

 $25 gift card (per age group)

 $10 gift card (per age group)

Wolfner Library uses an online platform, Beanstack, to track reading minutes for our program. Our staff is confident with logging minutes for students from your calls, emails, or returned logs; however, if you would like to log youth reading minutes from home, check out the resources below:
