Finalists Announced for the Missouri Blue Book Photo Contest
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Secretary of State’s Office is proud to announce the top 10 finalists in each category of the 2025 Missouri Blue Book Photo Contest: Man’s Best Friend and Missouri Sunrises.
The recurring contest invites Missourians to submit original photos that capture the unique spirit and beauty of the Show-Me State. This year’s themes celebrate Missouri’s love for its canine companions — highlighted through the Man’s Best Friend category in honor of Old Drum, the state’s historic dog — and the natural wonder of early mornings across Missouri in Missouri Sunrises.
Finalist photos are now available for public viewing and voting on the Missouri Secretary of State’s official Facebook page: facebook.com/missourisos. The three photos in each category that receive the most "likes" by the end of the voting period will be:
- Published in the next edition of the Missouri Official Manual, commonly known as the Blue Book
- Featured in an exhibit at the Missouri Secretary of State’s Offices in Jefferson City, Kansas City, St. Louis, and Springfield
- Displayed at the Secretary of State’s booth at the 2025 Missouri State Fair
“The Blue Book is a longstanding tradition that not only offers a comprehensive guide to Missouri’s government and history, but also serves as a celebration of our state’s culture and community,” said Missouri Secretary of State Denny Hoskins. “We’re excited to showcase the talent and perspective of everyday Missourians through this contest, and we encourage everyone to join in by voting for their favorites.”
First published in 1878, the Missouri Official Manual is a trusted reference guide containing vital information about the state’s executive, legislative, and judicial branches; election results; historical data; and more. Throughout the past several decades, the manual has also included citizen-submitted photography to spotlight Missouri’s rich landscapes and people.
Voting will remain open on Facebook through May 30, and winners will be announced shortly thereafter.
