Carnahan Certifies November 8th Special Elections



Paul Woody (D), Chrissy Sommer (R) and Bill Slantz (L) ran in the special election to fill a vacancy in State House District 15 (St. Charles County). Sommer won the House seat with 1,874 of the 3,804 votes counted.

The final numbers of votes were as follows: Paul Woody: 1,836 votes, Chrissy Sommer: 1,874 votes and Bill Slantz: 94 votes.

In State House District 39 (Jackson County), Judy Morgan (D) won the special election with 2,663 votes of the 3,441 votes counted. Her opponent, Jamie Barker Landes (R), had 778.

Brandon Ellington (D) ran unopposed in State House District 41 (Jackson County) and received all 958 votes cast.

In State House District 83 (St. Louis County), Tracy McCreery won the special election with 1,647 votes of the 3,748 votes counted. Jeff O’Connell (D) had 1,096, and Patrick Brennan (R) had 1,005.
