EXECUTIVE ORDER
80-18

WHEREAS, I have been advised by the State Coordinator, Disaster Planning and Operations Office, Civil Defense, Office of the Adjutant General, that a natural disaster of major proportions has occurred in Sedalia and Pettis County, Missouri; that injury to persons and damage to and loss of property has resulted from a severe windstorm and tornado on May 12, 1980, and that the safety and welfare of the inhabitants thereof require an invocation of the provisions of Section 44.100, RSMo 1969;

NOW THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH P. TEASDALE, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI, by virtue of authority vested in me, Section 44.100, RSMO 1969, do hereby declare that a state of emergency exists in Sedalia and Pettis County, Missouri, and that said County is hereby declared to be a disaster area, and do hereby authorize that the use of such agencies, personnel and equipment of the State as may be necessary for the preservation of life, property and the restoration of public facilities.
