EXECUTIVE ORDER
96-11

WHEREAS, AIDS prevention and care services to Missourians must focus on achieving positive measurable results; and

WHEREAS, community groups and individual Missourians have been working together in public-private partnerships to improve AIDS care and prevention services; and

WHEREAS, government coordination of AIDS prevention and care services is needed to measurably improve the lives of persons living with HIV/AIDS and persons at highest risk for HIV/AIDS; and

WHEREAS, Executive Order 95-10 established the Governor's Council on AIDS; and

WHEREAS, a need o include as members of the Council individuals living with HIV/AIDS has been identified and communicated to me;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mel Carnahan, Governor of the State of Missouri, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the State of Missouri, do hereby amend Executive Order 95-10, regarding the membership of the Council as follows:

The Governor's Council on AIDS will consist of representatives from the Governor's Office; the Directors of the Departments of Health, Corrections, Social Services, Mental Health, Elementary and Secondary Education, or their designees; the President of the Missouri AIDS Council or his/her designee; the Executive Director of the Governor's Council on Disability, or his/her designee; the chairperson of the Minority Health Advisory Committee, or his/her designee; and three persons living with HIV/AIDS in Missouri appointed by the Governor; and such other members as the Governor my from time to time appoint.
