EXECUTIVE ORDER
NO. 98-11

 

WHEREAS, by previous Executive Order 98-10, on July 28, 1998, I declared that a natural disaster of major proportions had occurred in 13 South Central Missouri counties due to severe storms and flash flooding; and

WHEREAS, Executive Order 98-10 was to be effective from July 25, 1998 until August 31, 1998, unless extended in whole or in part; and

WHEREAS, I have been advised by the Director of the State Emergency Management Agency that it is necessary to amend Executive Order 98-10 to include the following city and counties: St. Louis City, Cole County, Franklin County, Iron County, Shannon County, St. Louis County, and Texas County; and

WHEREAS, I have also been advised by the Director of the State Emergency Management Agency that the date of occurrence should be amended to July 10.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mel Carnahan, Governor of the State of Missouri, by virtue of the authority vested in me by Section 44.100, RSMo, 1994, do hereby amend Executive Order 98-10 and declare St. Louis City, Cole County, Franklin County, Iron County, Shannon County, St. Louis County, and Texas County disaster areas, and I do hereby direct that the Missouri State Emergency Operations Plan be activated.

This order shall terminate on August 31, 1998, unless extended in whole or in part.
