2 Appointed by Gov. Boggs following Napton's resignation.
3 Gardenhire appointed by Gov. King following Robards's death.
4 Gov. Stewart appointed Knott following Ewing's resignation.
5 Welch was appointed by Provisional Governor Gamble when Knott refused to take a loyalty oath. Welch died in office.
6 Appointed by Gov. Hall following Welch's death.
7 Gov. Baker appointed Gentry following Otto's resignation.
8 Hawley resigned January 3, 2019 after being elected to the U.S. Senate. Gov. Parson appointed Schmitt to complete Hawley's term.
9 Schmitt resigned January 3, 2023 after being elected to the U.S. Senate. Gov. Parson appointed Bailey on January 3, 2023 to complete Schmitt's term.
10 Bailey resigned September 8, 2025 after being appointed Co-Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Gov. Kehoe appointed Hanaway effective September 8, 2025 to complete Bailey's term.
