1766 Census - Spanish Louisiana Territory

A census of the civilian inhabitants and militiamen of the Spanish Louisiana Territory was taken in 1766 by two census enumerators.  Each enumerator made their own copy (copy-1 and copy-2) and each location indicated on the census is listed below and images of the census are available for each of the copies. 

 In addition to location names, descriptions may include the settlements distance from New Orleans, the ethnicity of settlers and the militia leaders in charge of the settlement.
