Public Libraries Certified for
FY 2023 State Aid

The FY 2023 state aid to public libraries program received an appropriation of $4,504,001. A total of 160 library districts have been certified and qualify for state aid per capita payment this year at a $0.707 per capita payment rate, with a $500,000 cap, for a total of $3,773,477.77 total payments. Equalization payments to be distributed in FY2023 amounted to $730,523.23 and will be distributed to 59 county libraries.

Each library eligible for per capita funding and equalization will receive its total allocated award as funds are available. Funding is subject to gubernatorial restriction. It is anticipated the first and second quarter payment will be transmitted to libraries in October 2022 and the third and fourth quarter payment will be distributed in spring of 2023. A listing of the recipient library districts and their payment amounts is posted on the State library grants website at Public Libraries Certified for State Aid FY2023.
