The Great Seal

The Missouri state seal was designed by Judge Robert William Wells It was approved on January 11, 1822. The seal is made up of many symbols. Each symbol has a special meaning. The two bears show courage and strength. The 24 stars show that Missouri was the 24th state created. The helmet stands for power. The seal is used on important government papers. It is kept in the Secretary of State's Office.
