Missouri's State Song
The "Missouri Waltz" is the state song of Missouri. John V. Eppel created the song's melody and J.R. Shannon wrote the lyrics. Some people did not agree the waltz should become the state song. Even with the disagreement, the Missouri Waltz was named the state song on June 30, 1949.
